Practice: After practicing for 25 years, Steve still assists on legal matters to outside clients but now on a much more limited basis, primarily in the areas of business and real estate law.
Experience: Steve practiced law in Seattle and Tacoma full time for 25 years. He enjoyed most putting together complicated business transactions, helping entrepreneurs set up new businesses, and helping his clients with estate planning. Along the way he was awarded the Av designation (“preeminent”) by his peers. In 2005 Steve became part owner, Chairman, and in house counsel for a worldwide aquaculture firm known as Troutlodge. Troutlodge is the world’s largest producer of trout eggs. It sells into over 60 countries and has operations in Washington, Oregon, Idaho, Florida, Hawaii, Chile and the Isle of Mann. He has enjoyed helping the company grow its product line and its global reach. He is also the owner of a Windermere real estate office in Chelan, Washington.
Education: After graduating from the University of Puget Sound in 1977, Steve worked in Alaska for the then Big Eight accounting firm of Coopers and Lybrand and eventually earned his Certified Public Accountant license. Faced with a career in accounting, and loving words a lot more than numbers, he went back to school for a law degree at the University of Puget Sound (now Seattle University), graduating in the top 5% of his class.
Personal: Steve is a lifelong resident of the Puget Sound area. He now lives with his wife of 27 years and their three children in the north end of Tacoma. Two of his children attend Bellarmine Prep High School and the other is in the physical therapy program at the University of Puget Sound. When not in the office or traveling for work, Steve enjoys spending time with his family, reading, working in the yard and riding his bike.
Practice: Ms. Flood practices in the areas of Employment, Labor Law, Personnel and Human Resources. Additionally, she practices School Law, including special education, FERPA, public records and disability, as well as staff training and risk management.
Experience: Ms. Flood has significant experience in complaint investigation for public and private employer clients in employment cases. Her clients have included counties, cities, school districts, insurers and private entities involving claims of personal injury, negligent supervision, hiring and retention, premises liability, employment discrimination and civil rights violations, wrongful discharge, sexual and other types of harassment, retaliation, whistleblowing, defamation, invasion of privacy and false imprisonment. She has experience drafting employer handbooks and policies and reviewing claims made for disability accommodations. She has conducted staff training on for employment issues.
Education: Ms. Flood received her B.A. in Finance from Seattle University and her J.D. from University of Puget Sound, now the Seattle University School of Law.
Associations: Ms. Flood is a member of the Washington State Bar Association; Personnel Committee Bellarmine Preparatory School; Catholic Woman’s Club. Ms. Flood gives presentations on investigations of employments claims and related topics.
Personal: Ms. Flood is a resident of Tacoma, Washington.
